Installation
All zip line courses are built to the standards set forth by the Professional Ropes Course Association (PRCA). The PRCA has developed safety standards specifically for zip line ecology tours. Courses are typically constructed of either 3/8" or 1/2" wire rope, with longer spans requiring 5/8" diameter wire ropes. Breaking strengths of wire ropes begin at 14,400 lb. Most zip lines are constructed with 1/2" wire rope and is rated to 26,600 lb. Quality harnesses, pulleys, and lanyards usead by Zip Designs are all custom made by Robertson Mountaineering (ISO-9001 certified), doing business since 1969 when they began making private label harnesses for Royal Robbins.
Zip Designs can construct suspension bridges and other elements to assist in traversing shorter distances which will aid in the flow of an eco-tour.
